This year, we are excited to have an expanded workshop schedule at TapeOpCon 2004. At the first TapeOpCon 2002 in Sacramento, we did not have any instructional workshops and the conference was centered on the main panel discussions. Last year, at TapeOpCon 2003 we experimented with adding relevant instructional workshops that were sold as a separate addition to the included main panels. These classroom style panels are informative, interactive, and most definitely educational.

For TapeOpCon 2004, we are including the workshops no charge with your registration.
The workshops will be held at the Fairmont Hotel starting on Friday afternoon.

We will have two workshops sessions on Friday, one session on Saturday, and one on Sunday.
There will be 3 to 4 topics per session held in different meeting rooms on the second floor by our sponsor exhibit room and registration tables. The workshops will run concurrently so you will have to make some choices. Attendance is not mandatory and you are not bound to a workshop by your choices at registration. What we do need is a basic idea of what you might attend so we can use the meeting spaces to our best advantage.

In order to make the choices at registration more streamlined, we have created a career path approach to the workshop schedule. Each path consists of 4 workshops each (two Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday) and cover a broad range of topics. Again, you may create your own path but we need you to pick the path that contains the majority of topics you are interested in when you register. When you select a path, the registration form will automatically fill in the drop down menus for the workshops with the appropriate panel for your selected path. You may click on each workshop drop down box and scroll select an alternative workshop to customize your path at this time. Again, this is to give us an idea of expected attendance for that workshop panel and you can change your mind later. We do not need to know if you change your mind later so please do not tie up our staff's time with your own indecisions. Simply show up on time to whatever workshop you ultimately decide to go to and participate in that panel.

Click on the workshops' appropriate title in the box above to see the workshops descriptions and
participants. Please note, as with a lot of the panels at TapeOpCon, the participants have agreed in principle to participate but their attendance is not guaranteed. There will always be scheduling conflicts that will arise by the actual conference dates. We of course will do our best to provide qualified and interesting substitutes in the event of such a change.
