5/10/07 News:
No more room at the TapeOpCon Inn!
The Hilton has sold out of rooms completely for Friday and Saturday
night and Thursday is not far behind. Not to mention we made our contract
and we have no more rooms at $99 on Sunday and those rooms, if any,
are now at the market rate of $139. Go to our accommodations
page for more info on alternate accommodations.
TapeOpCon
2007 is going back to the mountains and desert of Tucson, Arizona
and the beautiful Hilton El Conquistador. Last
year's conference was a great mix of education, networking, and
poolside fun.
This year promises more of the same with a new twist – a fantastic
live outdoor concert under the stars Saturday night featuring Calexico,
Devotchka and a solo performance by John Vanderslice! Friday night we
will be going downtown after the Producers' panel to Club Congress and
the Rialto Theater for a New Orleans night of music and food with the
Rebirth Brass Band and other exciting performers TBA. With the Sunday
Night wrap party and the Thursday night pre-party it will be four nights
of unrestrained audio and recording partying and conversing.
On the serious side, this year's content is shaping up to be the most
dynamic yet with more real-time listening and discussions. Of course
we have a full slate of recording tips and tricks going at the PotLuck
Studio all weekend long and this year we will be demonstrating a live
mastering workshop where you can hear what mastering can do to your
recordings. The workshop program is a solid mix of studio recording
techniques to practical business advice with a healthy dose of fun topics
included like analog synthesis and using distortion creatively in your
mixes.
